How to Fix Your Gut: ▶️https://youtu.be/nZV1oYv5Ddo

Depression has consistently been viewed as a chemical imbalance, but it's actually related to a problem with the gut.

Depression is often treated with SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), but many studies show normal serotonin levels in people with depression.

SSRIs do not fix depression and have even been called placebos by some medical professionals. They also come with serious side effects, including sexual dysfunction, decreased libido, inability to experience emotion, and worsening depression.

St. John’s wort affects both serotonin and dopamine. It’s an anti-inflammatory and reduces cortisol, but doctors and the medical world often recommend against it despite its very few side effects.

Serotonin and oxytocin are made in the gut. Oxytocin is a powerful hormone that can help with depression and stress, so gut health is at the core of mental health. The vagus nerve works as a highway that orchestrates the brain and gut connection.

If you have a problem with your gut microbes, this can lead to depression. Studies have found serious microbes missing in depressed people! Gut inflammation can also alter your mood.

One of the side effects of antibiotics is depression. Antibiotics erase the good bacteria that control your mood chemicals. Once wiped away, microbes don't always come back, and you could be left with an imbalance.

L. reuteri is an amazing microbe that many people are missing. Dr. William Davis has shared an expert technique for cultivating L. reuteri using half and half to increase its potency. People have consumed this probiotic mixture and experienced significant health benefits such as improved sleep, muscle tone, and reduced stress.

L. reuteri acts as a natural antibiotic without side effects and is found naturally in breast milk.

Plastic Recycling is an Actual Scam:
▶️ https://youtu.be/PJnJ8mK3Q3g

Did you know that the brain accumulates 7 to 30 times more microplastics than the liver and the kidneys? In this video, I’m going to tell you how to detox microplastics and forever chemicals that can wreak havoc on your health.

Forever chemicals can bind with proteins in your blood, creating problems as they bioaccumulate in the body over time. One report found that the average person has 7 grams of plastic in their brain!

Plastic recycling is a scam! Only 9% of plastic can actually be recycled, and the majority sinks to the bottom of the ocean.

Scientists are working to develop microbes, fungi, and enzymes that can eat plastic, but until those are developed, there are only two things you can do to detoxify your body of microplastics. First, avoid plastic!

High-quality deep sleep is vital to detox microplastics from the brain. Inducing autophagy can also detox microplastics. Fasting for at least 18 hours is one of the best ways to induce autophagy.

Plastics and forever chemicals create oxidative stress in the body, which can be countered with strong antioxidant systems. Foods high in sulfur, such as garlic, onions, and cruciferous vegetables, can help strengthen your body’s antioxidant networks. NAC and milk thistle are great for detoxification.

Try these tips to reduce microplastics:
•Use a water filter
•Eliminate plastic cutting boards
•Avoid dishwasher pods
•Switch to biodegradable coffee filters
•Use sea salt from an ancient seabed
•Choose natural tea bags without plastic
•Avoid plastic baby bottles
•Use a stainless steel water bottle
•Use plastic-free sponges
•Avoid canned food and liquids
•Use bamboo toothbrushes
•Avoid Teflon
•Use glass Tupperware
•Avoid plastic dental floss
•Use 100% organic cotton tampons

Please join me in welcoming Dr. Chris Knobbe! Dr. Knobbe is an ophthalmologist who has been working on seed oil research for the past 13 years. His research investigates industrial seed oils and their connection to obesity, diabetes, and almost all chronic diseases that plague us today.

Sugar consumption levels did not change much between 1922 and 1987; however, obesity increased by 600%! During this timeframe, vegetable oil consumption went from 78 calories per person per day to 497 calories, respectively! The average American gets around ⅓ of their calories from seed oils.

How do seed oils contribute to diabetes? Simply put, seed oils drive mitochondrial dysfunction, inhibiting the body's ability to burn fuel properly.

Seed oils are rich in omega-6 fatty acids that accumulate in our body fat, cell membranes, and mitochondrial membranes. These polyunsaturated fats cause oxidation and inflammation in the body. They are also nutrient deficient. When you consume foods that lack nutrients like seed oils or sugar, your body has to pull from nutrient reserves, creating deficiencies.

Cottonseed oil was the first seed oil introduced into the food supply. It was initially manufactured as machine oil and lamp oil. It was also used as fertilizer and cattle feed. The goal was to make money and outsell butter and lard, and the manufacturers were very successful. By 2010, the average American consumed 80 grams of seed oils daily.

One of the easiest ways to eliminate seed oils from your diet is to stop purchasing food with a label! Focus on whole foods like meat, eggs, dairy, and produce, and avoid processed foods.

The Worst Ingredient in the World: Interview with Dr. Chris Knobbe

Diet Discipline July 8, 2024 12:00 pm

Find out about the marketing tactics that will have you buying all sorts of things you never intended. Don’t fall victim to supermarket tricks!

Just so you know, my full line of high-quality supplements is available on Amazon — search Dr. Berg Supplements.

0:00 Introduction: How supermarkets trick you
0:53 Grocery store real estate
1:46 Supermarket tricks
2:41 Color marketing tactics in grocery stores
5:11 The checkout line
6:19 Price and sales tricks
7:14 Label tricks
10:03 How to combat grocery store tricks

Today, I’m going to tell you how supermarkets get you to spend more money and control your food shopping experience. The majority of grocery store profits are not from markups on products! Around 50% to 75% of grocery store profit is from real estate, known as slotting fees. Food companies or brands spend money to have their products placed in prime locations in the grocery store.

Companies want their products in “the golden zone,” right at your eye level. This can lead to 8 times more product sales! Grocery stores use numerous marketing tactics to control your food shopping experience, such as manipulating grocery store layout, artificial smells, and floor texture to slow you down.

Supermarkets will place high-priced items near low-priced items and use color marketing tactics to their advantage. They also use social proof, such as retail tricks like “best seller” or “customer favorite,” to boost sales. The cereal aisle is the most profitable aisle!

Around 16% of the total sales of a grocery store are purchased from the front of the store! It’s no coincidence that candy lines the checkout aisle.

Labels are also very tricky, and similar marketing tactics are employed! Just because a product is labeled “natural” or “organic” doesn’t mean it’s not filled with sugar and starch.

To combat these supermarket tactics, avoid grocery shopping with kids or if you’re hungry and tired. Write a list and stick to it! Shop the perimeter of the grocery store, and don’t go into the junk food aisles.
