Paste the ingredient list off any package. This checks it against the Dirty List and shows you what turned up, plus what to use instead.

What this is not: a safety score. It only looks for the ingredients on our Dirty List, so a clean result means nothing on that list turned up, not that a food is good for you.
And here is what it cannot see: processing. A product can come back with zero matches and still be heavily refined. Two signals are worth more than any additive check: how long the ingredient list is, and how many items on it you would recognize as food in your own kitchen. A short list of real things beats a long list of clean-sounding ones. That is the whole idea, and no scanner replaces it.
This tool checks text in your browser. Its code does not send or save what you paste. Four entries are deliberately outside its ingredient-name coverage, because none of them can appear in an ingredient list: bisphenol A (BPA), which is a can lining; per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS); ractopamine; and formaldehyde.
